Rashid was a regular girl from Peshawar who grew up to be
appointed president of an international tribunal for crimes against humanity,
war crimes and genocide.
Khalida Rashid, who was appointed back in 2011 as the
President of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, is a source of
pride. While talking to the BBC Radio, she shared how the men in the
conservative Pakistani society tried to outcast her.
Khalida Rashid Khan had to deal with male lawyers and male
colleagues refusing to address her or to take her seriously as a woman
appointed at a dignified job.
